What is David’s Origin story?
Born and raised in Vancouver, I attended schools in East Vancouver and Burnaby before completing my BA at SFU. In 2004, I journeyed to Japan to teach English for 3 years, where I met my wife.
Upon returning to Vancouver, I worked in marketing where I represented brands like Nintendo, Best Buy and Kellogg’s. Finally, I was a member of the three month Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay as the emcee for Coca-Cola.
After the 2010 Olympics, I changed industries, moving from marketing to the First Nations art gallery industry. Working with Tahltan artist, Alano Edzerza, we launched an outdoor brand and online store all while running the gallery. After two years, I joined the Douglas Reynolds Gallery to relaunch their website, and build a photo studio.
Why did I become a financial advisor?
Finally, I joined Edward Jones in 2018 – my final career shift. Investments have always been a passion of mine, as well as the world economy and international news. It’s exciting to bring my marketing and entrepreneurial experience to this new journey with Edward Jones.
What is most important to me?
I have a young, growing family, a boy and a girl born in 2014 and 2017 respectively. I like to work with other young families because I’m facing the same challenges they are. Education planning, generational wealth transfer, retirement planning and insurance are all major concerns that I have personal experience with.
I look forward to each and every one of my meetings, and make them as enjoyable and informative as possible. My office is located in City Square Mall, and I live in East Vancouver, just off Commerical Drive, so if you’re ever in the area – let’s grab a coffee.
